I have been hooked on baking ever since I flipped opened my first cookbook, a bright yellow one with cute pictures called Busy Little Cook. At the age of 7, my first attempt making meringues using a fork as a whisk was a disaster, but things have gotten better since then. Cooking is an essential skill to have for any student living abroad, especially when you like to eat!
Komaru Macarons is a blog that documents my progress with making macarons, as well as a blog shop to sustain my baking hobby. For the next few months, all proceeds from macaron sales will go towards the Cornell Women's Water Polo team. In Japanese, ko (小) means small and maru (丸) means round - the exact description of a macaron. Only that mine aren't really quite perfect yet.. But when I get there, success will be sweet!
When not in the kitchen, I play club water polo for Cornell, conduct research with AguaClara, and dabble with food photography.
