Rainbow Collection

The whole semester of baking macarons has finally led up to this: a rainbow macaron collection! It took so much time, with me baking till the last minute and then sprinting to class on my bike, and many many hours of whipping egg whites, folding batter, piping circles (of different sizes :S), matching similarly sized macaron cookies and finally placing them delicately into clear plastic boxes. But it all paid off! I love how the colors look when they are all placed side by side!

Flavor wise, most of them turned out well and I especially liked the White Chocolate Hazelnut Ganache filling that I used in the white colored macaron. I must say that I was excited about making mango buttercream, but the result was really disappointing because it wasn't strong enough.

Thanks everyone who supported the Cornell Women's Water Polo team at our final bake sale! We will be heading to Florida next week to compete at Nationals!

If you bought some macarons, I would appreciate it if you could leave some feedback by clicking on the 'Feedback' tab at the top. Thanks!

Easter Bake Sale

For Easter, I conducted a second water polo fundraiser bake sale with chocolate, lavender and rose macarons. I'm getting the hang of making large batches of macarons, though making 200+ of these took me maybe about 8h!

The lavender macarons were meant to be blue.. but the coloring turned out greenish instead. I feel that lavender is an acquired taste, and I made it a tad too strong because I was having a stuffed nose and couldn't smell anything much when I was baking.

Thanks everyone for supporting the team once again! For the next and final bake sale, I'll be presenting a set of 8 rainbow colored macarons!
